Abstract:
In this paper, we studied the effects of supports, such as SiO
2, MgO, Al
2O
3 and MgAl
2O
4, on the performance of supported NiSn catalyst for propane dehydrogenation. NH
3 temperature-programmed desorption, H
2 temperature-programmed reduction were applied for the characterization of the catalysts. The results show that SiO
2 with large specific surface area and large pore size can achieve good contact between catalyst and reactants, leading to a high content of Ni
2.67Sn
2 alloy and a reduced diffusion resistance, In addition, their weak acid improve dehydrogenation activity and propene selectivity.
